No episodes of sciatica, lower back and core much stronger. I am fit.
The biggest change
For 23 years I have been prescribed medication for high blood pressure, more recently under Professor Singer at University Hospital Coventry as my resting heart rate was not below 90bpm. No one could figure out why or they couldn’t tell me.
Three weeks before the end of the 12 week program my doctor took me off medication saying I didnt need them anymore. He also went on to say that people coming off such medication is unheard of, once on your on for life. He was amazed, it’s very rare he said and he was pleased for me. My blood pressure is very healthy and normal. Each day I save myself 31,600 heart beats. How much extra life have I put back in the bank for that one change? I can tell you how it makes me feel each and everyday.

It seems totally inadequate to say, for these mere words go no way to convey how indebted I feel to Coventry Personal Trainer – Louis Thompson. He had more faith in me than I had myself. He knew more what I was capable of than I knew myself. And when on occasion focus and determination wavered, he picked me back up, supported and drove me on.
On reflection, what I have done is not hard, it’s just time, will power and determination to make a change that was within my grasp to do. I didn’t know it would be so profound. My friend Geoff Thompson, who I’ve known for 26 years doesn’t recognise me, he looks for his old fat friend before he realises it’s me looking back, but no longer fat.
I was fat.
I was, don’t kid yourself about it with such lines as being big boned, it’s muscle, that’s all lies. I was kidding myself. Louis knew it. I didn’t.
In fact if you had called me fat we may have ended up arguing.
The point I want to make to you is if I can do this, anyone can, anyone. There are no hidden secrets foods or super 8 minute exercises, no quick fixes, it is about choice, making a life change and becoming honest with myself, both in everyday food choices and what I want from life, what things are important to me, what’s worth fighting for, before, sooner or later circumstances will dictate, through my own poor choices, I’d be fighting for my life. It will happen, as sure as night follows day, period. And it happens to everyone.
We live in a society that frowns on people who say you’re fat and unhealthy, its not politically correct. We are kidding ourselves, well I certainly was. Look at the numbers above how I’ve changed for the better.
The choice is yours, the power is in your own hands and after a short 12 weeks I’m a different person, for today, tomorrow and going forward. I don’t want your medication, I don’t want to feel bad, make up excuses, feel constantly tired. The list goes on and its all negative.
This is the end of Louis Thompson’s 12 week program and the start of a new period in my life.
With Louis’ faith in me, his wisdom and guidance he helped me. I made a choice while I could and I choose to FEEL FINE.
