Tough Day?

October 13, 2019

Weird isn’t it how we focus on insignificant little things, making them big. We lose sight of what’s important. Sometimes a little perspective can help.

In 2005 I went to Everest Base Camp as part of a double challenge which saw me do the London Marathon just days before I flew out. Walking out of base camp was this porter. Roped to his back were gas bottles. His job was to bring them in full and carry out the empties. One of them is heavy… let alone four.

When I think I’m having a tough day I think of him. He was walking out of base camp. The altitude was 5000 metres plus.

My day is never that tough.
